Search engine optimisation, or SEO, is the process of improving the visibility of your website in search engines such as google, yahoo, bing etc.

Why would you want to do this? Because the higher up in the search results your page appears for any given search, the more likely it is that you will receive a click-through and, potentially, make a sale.

SEO has many businesses spending tens of thousands on so called SEO specialists who will constantly tweak every little aspect of your site in an attempt to rank higher in the search listings. So if you are selling something, include all the words that your potential customers might look for, in all its forms and variations. Identify twenty five to fifty or so good key words for your site, and then write keyword-rich content based around these words.
